This chocolate-orange body lotion is easy to make and free from any harsh chemicals or preservatives making it safe for you and for the environment.

Scale

Ingredients

1 c shea butter

1/2 c cocoa butter

1/2 c coconut oil

1/2 c sweet almond oil

1 tbsp arrowroot powder (optional)

5-10 drops sweet orange essential oil

Instructions

1. Place shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil, and sweet almond oil into a double boiler. If you so not have a double boiler, put ingredients into a glass bowl and place over a small pot filled with 1-2 inches of water. Turn stove to medium heat and stir contents of bowl or double boiler until everything is completely melted.

2. Remove bowl from stove and place in the refrigerator to allow the contents to firm up and cool completely, about 2 hours. Once mixture is firm, remove from refrigerator and allow to soften for about ten minutes.

3. Finally, take a hand mixer and whip until the lotion reaches the desired consistency. If you like your body lotion to be on the thicker side, add in 1 tbsp arrowroot powder. Add 5-10 drops of sweet orange essential oil and mix to combine. Lotion can keep in a sealable, airtight jar for up to a month.
