I hate being hot! While I do love the summer season and all of the metaphors is inspires, any day over 80 degrees F is shaping up to be a bad one for me. I have always been this way. I would much prefer to be freezing cold than unbearably hot. Call me crazy.
Luckily for me (and now you) I have created this amazing peach watermelon smoothie that does a tremendous job in taking the edge off. Watermelon is the quintessential summer treat and pairing it with peaches, bananas, and strawberries only serves to make it that much better.
Where the melon supplies a hydrating base for this smoothie, the other fruits provide sweet, sour, and tangy flavors galore. The combination is enchanting and will revive you from even your worst heat-induced funk. Ingesting things that are cold and hydrating is key to survive even the most hellish parts of the summer season.
Prior to creating this recipe, I had never tried watermelon in a smoothie before. I had seen it done a few different ways on Pinterest but I never got around to really giving it a try. Now that I have I swear to never go back! I feared the flavor would get lost and I would be left feeling sorry that I had just wasted a perfectly good watermelon. Fortunately, the watermelon flavor shines through.
The bananas in the smoothie are also essential. Never skimp on the banana in a smoothie. A smoothie with no banana is not a smoothie at all! Where would the creaminess come from? Ice cream? No thanks! Keep things light this summer and you won’t regret it. You also won’t regret this Peach Watermelon Smoothie. Pinky promise.
