Hot weather has officially began in earnest and is here to stay! Just the other day I was sweating away in my kitchen, (houses don’t have air-conditioning where I’m from) dreaming about a smoothie bowl that could take all of my troubles away and here it is!
This açai bowl is fairly straightforward. No crazy additions, turns, or curves. Just straight up heaven with little to no fuss involved. 5 simple ingredients are all that is necessary before you are able to transport yourself via tastebuds to your smoothie bowl paradise.
You don’t even need a crazy, fancy blender to make this. Your mom’s old contraption from the 80’s will make do just fine. Simply put all of the ingredients into a blender, blend until smooth, top with any desired additions and BANG! Sweet, sweet summer in a bowl.
My favorite toppings include fresh fruit, berries, dried coconut, and hemp or chia seeds. However, you can add whatever you have on hand. Different nuts, cocao nibs, and dried fruit also work wonderfully. Whatever your heart desires is adequate.
So treat yourself well this summer by keeping cool and filling up on nature’s candy. This will keep your energy levels high and free you from any of the kitchen sweating that is sure to plague me. Save yourselves while you can!
Traditional Açai Bowl
These açai bowls are packed with powerhouse nutrients and easy to make on even your busiest mornings.

Ingredients
2 frozen açai packs
2 frozen bananas
1 c frozen strawberries
1 c vanilla plant milk
1/2 c water
toppings (optional)
unsweetened coconut
hemp seeds
banana slices
berries
cocoa nibs
Instructions
1. To a blender, add açai packs, bananas, strawberries, plant milk, and water. Blend until completely smooth. Add more water if you prefer a thinner consistency.
2. Divide smoothie between two bowls and decorate with desired toppings.
